Does anyone else think the Sandalwood aftershave is watered down compared to a few years ago? Doesn’t quite have the same fragrance either. Unfortunate for what this costs.
I am a big fan of The Art of Shaving and am so sad that they no longer have any physical locations. I have been using the products for over 25 years and they are still outstanding. I don't know where I would be without the pre-shave oil. I use it almost every day while shaving in the shower. The after shave balm & moisturizer is amazing. Four pumps of product is plenty for covering my face, neck and upper chest and the Sandalwood smells great! I have given Art of Shaving gifts to friends and family and they are so appreciative.
I need a new razor because the razor mechanism is finally (after 20 years) beyond repair after dropping it countlesss times LOL. I love the black pearl handle but am not sure the head can be repaired, so I'm in the market to replace it. I decided to write this review in advance of my purchase today knowing that I will find a quality replacement.. Hopefully, this review will bring additional business to The Art of Shaving.
I've been buying this for years I love the shaving cream however it's gotten way too expensive in 2018 I used to buy it for $25 and I thought that was high. Now it's 35 across the board. Sorry I'm going to have to shop elsewhere.
This shaving kit includes everything to maximize the perfect shave experience. The sandalwood scent is the most pleasant version of sandalwood in existence. Soothing pre shave oil and soft luscious applicator brush make applying the creamy shaving cream a comfortable and soothing experience. Confident this is the best shave experience there is and the only way to improve it is getting an in person professional barber in your home to use this kit for you. It’s that good!
What a wonderful set. Loved the pre shave oil and the shaving cream the most but all of it was good just never used a brush before so will take a bit to get used to.
This is a great product. It has a clean natural scent, and leaves a great non greasy feeling on your skin throughout the day. Most products have many chemicals in them , and damage your skin. I can't wait to try another scent.
This is an absolute great smelling sandalwood scent. All of the items included were really nice to use the shaving cream lathered easily and provided a nice slick lather. The post shave balm completed the entire shave and felt great on my face.

so far so good.. i only received this yesterday so no major time to review for a lengthy time... the smell just envelops you and it's amazinggggg.... i put some oil on and used the cream with the brush ( 1st time ever using the brush ) and then i followed up with the after shave balm..... the smell is so perfect and not overpowering...
Absolutely loved this kit, such an enjoyable shave. Easy to use, save cream lathered well and went on well. Shaver gave me a close shave with no nicks or cuts. Was great around the chin and neck area as well. After shave smelled great as well.

I'm so impressed with every aspect of this The Art Of Shaving New York Sandalwood Shaving Kit. So much detail went in to the packaging. The outer label is embossed and made of heavy cardstock, the box is thick, sturdy and something that can easily be used again, it is very high-end. The four products that come in the kit are all full sized which is really nice. The sandalwood scent isn't too overpowering, in case you don't like a lot of fragrance. The products they included are enough for a full shaving routine, minus a razor. The pre-shave oil did a nice job softening my beard and it didn't leave a lot of residue on my skin. The shaving cream lathered thickly and the brush didn't shed bristles, it wasn't overly clogging to my razor. The after-shave balm & daily moisturizer isn't irritating and is soothing after shaving. This would make an excellent gift, either for someone else or to treat yourself.
This is probably the best manual shave kit I've ever used! I love the little brush too spread the shaving cream. Gives it a vintage feel with getting a shave at a barber. I typically get ingrown hairs when I shave, and I tend to avoid shaving as much as possible. But with this kit, my skin has felt and stayed smooth without any irritation! I absolutely love the scent of sandlewood! Smells better than cologne! The pre-shave and after-shave certainly make a world of difference in giving me a close, smooth, comfortable shave. Highly recommend!

I thought the art of shaving sandalwood kit was amazing. I love the sandalwood smell. The shaving cream and pre-shave oil made my beard soft and a lot easier to shave. The kit comes with a brush to help apply the shaving cream. The after shave balm helps moisturize and protect your skin after your shave. Overall I had a nice close shave and my face felt great and smelled amazing. I would highly recommend this kit especially if you enjoy the smell of sandalwood.

I am so pleased with the results from using the pre-shave oil and how it well it prepared my beard then by using the brush with the shave foam only intensified how close my shave was, and how smoothly the blade of my razor glided over my skin and gave me such a close shave. The aftershave/moisturizer was incredibly soothing and made my skin feel ultras, soft and moisturized. The light scent of sandalwood, and all of the products was very pleasing, and I really enjoyed the scent.
I absolutely love the scent profile of the sandalwood. The actual shaving cream is thick and creamy. The brush is soft and lush. The kit over all feels very luxe and I definitely recommend. My only negative is the packaging. It came pretty beat up, but it could of been due to the shipping.
